Rovers hold top spot

SHAMROCK ROVERS hit Ballagh for three as they copper-fastened their lead at the top of Division 3. Two goals from Willie Dobbs and a further effort from Derek Whelan secured the points in a 3-0 victory.

Second from bottom Wexford Celtic went on a scoring rampage as they had a 7-1 victory over Adamstown with goals from Philly Cullen, who had a hat-trick including two penalties, Seán Byrne, Eugene Rockett, Peter Dubsisc and Keith Robinson.

Goals from Kevin McGrath and John Whitty saw Raheen get the better of Blackwater on a 2-1 scoreline, while James Byrne and Frank Kelly goals saw Orrill United defeat Bree United 2-1, with Kevin Ring getting the losers' goal.

Second-placed North End United had goals from Andrew Carthy (2), Ger O'Keeffe and Anthony Beary in a 4-1 home win over Caim United. Bunclody recorded a 2-1 victory over Crossabeg with goals from Johnny Melay and Patrick Skelton.

DIVISION 3A

Goals from Paul Edinardt, Niall Murphy and Jason Murphy saw Bridge Rovers gain a point in a 33 home draw with Rathnure.

St. Michael's maintained their push for promotion with a 5-1 win over Curracloe United, while Campile United played a 2-2 draw with All Blacks after goals from Aaron Hart and Richie Waters.
