No injury worries for Wexford
WEXFORD FOOTBALL League manager John Godkin is confident that he can make home advantage pay when his side takes on warm favourites A.U.L. in the Oscar Traynor Trophy quarter-final at the New Ross Celtic grounds on Saturday afternoon next.
Having seen off the Kilkenny League in their final group game with a late goal amidst scenes of controversy, Godkin feels that his side can take much from that game and pose a huge challenge to the visiting side.
Playing in the quarter-final for the second successive season, Godkin will be endeavouring to take his side one step further, and make it through to the semi-finals which would be a huge boost for Model county soccer.
Godkin has no injury problems going into the game and has brought in Tom Elmes and Paul Phelan to his squad, both of whom are sure to figure. Paul Murphy of Wexford Bohs is another player capable of having a huge impact on this game.
'We have progressed with each game while the lads have put in a huge amount of preparation since the Kilkenny victory. We will go in prepared and take the game to the A.U.L. It's a huge challenge but one we are looking forward to,' Godkin said.
