NATIONAL U-12 BLITZ QUALIFIERS The Wexford section of the National Under-12 Cup will take place next Saturday at a venue to be decided. A minimum of four teams from the league will qualify for the Leinster section which takes place a week later.
Teams from Wexford have done well in this competition in recent years, with Ferns United winning the National Shield in 2007 being the highlight.
Players born in 1998 or after are eligible for this competition and any club interested in playing this Saturday should contact Peter Doyle on 087-2697074 to book their place. LEAGUE KICK-OFF
The Women's league will kick off on Sunday, September 26, followed by the Schoolgirls on Saturday, October 2, with the Under10s, 14s and 18s all in action.
This season sees a massive increase in the numbers participating, with 36 teams at adult level and well over 100 at schoolgirls.
We would like to take this opportunity to wish all teams the very best of luck for what looks like being a very busy season. UNDER-17 WORLD CUP
The league would like to wish Wexford League players Rianna Jarrett, Jessica Gleeson and Ciara O'Brien the best of luck as they take part in the Under-17 World Cup in Trinidad and Tobago.
They played Brazil on Monday and have upcoming games against Canada and Ghana on Thursday and Monday, with two qualifying from the group for the quarter-finals. On behalf of the league, we would like to wish the whole squad the very best of luck. LEAGUE TRAINING CENTRES
Two sets of trials have already taken place for the League Training Centres at Under-12, 14, 16 and 18 levels and the response so far has been phenomenal, especially at the younger age groups.
One more trial will take place in the coming days and all clubs will be notified before the final squads are picked to go into training for the coming season.
