Cushintown stage rousing comeback
CUSHINSTOWN CONTINUED their winning start to the season with a rousing fightback to earn a 5-3 win against Fastnet Rovers.
The Rathangan men were 3-0 up within 15 minutes with goals from Paddy Miskella (2) and Declan Colfer but the hosts failed to panic and reduced the deficit to a single goal at half-time with goals from brothers Luke and Mark O'Connor.
Nicky Sinnott levelled matters for Cushinstown after the restart with a great free-kick and Ian Gaffney then headed them in front for the first time in the game.
Nicky Sinnott then put the seal on a fine comeback with a penalty.
Ferns edged out Bunclody 3-2, with Marek Wynchyk and John Breen on target for the losers, while Wexford Bohs and Fethard Rangers drew 1-1, with Pat 'Dixie' Chapman putting Fethard ahead early in the second-half before Daryl Margolin equalised for Bohs.
Rosslare Strand proved much too good for Orrill United, winning 5-1 with goals from Derek Foley, Danny O'Reilly (2), Alex Corcoran and Philip O'Brien, with Frank Kelly replying for Orrill.
Elsewhere Shelburne picked up three points by edging out New Ross Celtic 3-2.
