Clinical Ciara fires Duncannon through
CIARA NOLAN was in top scoring form for Duncannon when they made the long journey to Ballindaggin and progressed through to the quarter-finals with a 4-0 win, with Ciara scoring all four.
Sinéad Egan and Michelle Ryan scored one each as St. Leonards overcame St Cormac's 2-0 in Boolavogue. Killenagh went through 2-1 against Tombrack, with Megan Cahill and Tara Doyle scoring for the home side while Louise Carton hit back for Tombrack.
Bree first team knocked out Bunclody 2-0 thanks to two goals from Louise Butler, while Bree B caused the shock of the day when knocking out Premier side Curracloe United.
After a scoreless match, the home side went through on penalties thanks to goals from Kim Horan and Jo Murphy. Glen topped off a good week when proving too strong for All Blacks and went through 7-0 with goals from Laura Burns (two), Ciara O'Connor (two), Amy Banville and two own goals.
Premier leaders North End also booked their place in the last eight after eventually overcoming a very stubborn Forth Celtic who proved very difficult to break down, and the 3-0 scoreline flattered the visitors.
Sara Byrne, Niamh Walsh and Mary Carroll all scored for North End. The remaining cup game between Campile United and Courtown Hibs was called off due to a frozen pitch.
