Two-day format for popular Dick Bailey Stages Rally next month
Wednesday August 25 2010
WEXFORD MOTOR Club is currently organising the Riverbank House Hotel Dick Bailey Stages Rally 2010.
The event will be a two-day format, national status tarmac rally and will take place on September 11 and 12.
The rally will consist of three stages, each repeated three times totalling nine smooth tarmac stages for Saturday.
Sunday will have two stages each repeated three times, totalling six stages.
The rally will be based in the Riverbank House Hotel, Wexford.
We have great pleasure in welcoming the hotel back on board again for 2010 to renew their long association with the rally as the main headline sponsors.
The event will run the usual Irish rally classes and newly added for 2010 there will be a class for historic rally cars, where entrants will run amongst the main field and cover all 15 stages.
The event will also incorporate a Junior class on Sunday where entrants will compete on all of the day's six stages.
All the stages will be based in the south of the county in a very compact route, and this will aid in reducing the time needed to complete recce.
The same centralised service area will be used on both days, again saving on road mileage.
The event regulations and entry forms are currently available to download on www.wexfordmotorclub.com where an online system is also available to submit your entry.
The entry fee has been set at €635 which is a reduction on the 2009 fee. The Junior section is set at €290 which represents amazing value for those who wish to compete in that class.
Arrangements can be made to pay an entry fee by instalments.
As is the case with all rallies, the organisers are currently looking to recruit volunteers to help on the event, and anybody that may be available to help in any way may offer their services by contacting the Chief Marshal, Theresa Stafford, on 087-9828493, as soon as possible.
Further information regarding the event will be published on the club's website - www.wexfordmotorclub.com - as it becomes available, or you can contact the clerk of the course, Pat O'Dowd, on 087-9184022 or e-mail podowd1@eircom.net
