Top fashions at 'Hair Raiser'

Tuesday January 31 2012

THEY ARE calling it the 'Hair Raiser'; but it is actually a fund raiser, with autistic children attending school in Enniscorthy set to benefit from the exercise. The fashion show at the Riverside Park hotel on Monday, February 13 is the brainchild of hairdresser Yvonne Galligan, who runs a salon in The Duffry area.

She has promised to arrange the coiffs of the models who will be presenting the latest fashion from four local shops.

To give added value for money, the attendance will also be treated to performances by the Footloose dance group, 'Jigs 'n Reels' duo Eugene Canning and Louise Hore, and singers Lisa Sinnott and Treasa Taylor. All the acts will be introduced by ' the man in the kilt'.

The venture has been welcomed by Helene O'leary, whose autistic son attends St. Senan's primary school. Money raised will be used to buy equipment at the school and to pay for therapies which assist the children.

St. Senan's has lost the services of five special needs assistants in Government cutbacks.
