Thomas and Annie mark 60 years of wedded bliss

THE RYAN family of Oylegate had something to celebrate on Sunday when Tinnahask couple Thomas and Annie 'Babs' Ryan marked 60 years of marriage. The milestone event was marked by a service of blessing at the couple's home by Father Jim Cogley in front of close family members.
Afterwards, around fifty people gathered in Mernagh's pub for refreshments and chat, while Jimmy Hogan was at the keyboard providing musical entertainment. The attendance included Thomas and Babs's daughter Nuala and son Tony, as well as five of their six grandchildren. Also present was Thomas's brother Alec and his wife Breda.
The married couple are both hale and hearty in their eighties, with Thomas still well capable of driving at the age of 88, while his wife is 84.
