Star studded festival launch

DETAILS of this year's South Wicklow Drama Festival were unveiled at a special launch night in Carnew last week.

The sixth annual festival will run at St. Brigid's Hall, Carnew, from Saturday, March 12, to Saturday, March 20.

Adjudicator for this year's festival is Terry Byrne, ADA, the highly acclaimed director of 'I Keano' and many other notable productions.

Well known local director and adjudicator Imelda McDonagh was on hand to launch the festival, and wished everyone well with the event.

The festival will be officially opened on Saturday, March 12, by Aisling O'Neill, who plays Carol in 'Fair City'.

Patron Tickets which cover the nine nights are available at just €35, while student tickets are just €20 for all nine nights. The nightly admission rate is €8.

Saturday, March 13, Bradan Players with 'Mauritius' by Theresa Rebec.

Sunday, March 14, Ferns Drama Group with ' Translations' by Brian Friel.

Monday, March 15, Tinahely Drama Group with ' White Woman Street' by Sebastian Barry.

Tuesday, March 16, Bunclody/Kilmyshall Drama Group with 'Death of a Salesman' by Arthur Miller.

Wednesday, March 17, Silken Thomas Players with 'The History Boys' by Alan Bennett.

Thursday, March 18, Kilmuckridge Drama Group with 'Canaries' by Bernard Farrell.

Friday, March 19, Bridge Players with 'Blithe Spirit' by Noel Coward.

Saturday, March 20, Ennis Players with 'Playboy of the Western World' by JM Synge.
