FERNS witnessed a wonder escape from serious injury or even death this week when a runaway unmanned lorry smashed into a car and two jeeps before demolishing a metal fence outside a business premises.
The main street was miraculously free of traffic and pedestrians at the time of Monday afternoon's drama, which occurred after the driver dismounted from the cab to try find the source of a mechanical problem.
