Lions Clubs walk their way along all the Wexford coast

The Lions Club Coastal Walk setting off from Kilmichael on Friday evening.
A LARGE number of people put on their walking shoes for a good cause last weekend and walked the Wexford coast.
The popular Lions Club Coastal Walk was once again well supported this year and those participating were largely blessed with beautiful weather for their charitable endeavours.
Starting in Kilmichael, close to the Wicklow/Wexford border on Friday evening, the walk comprised eight stages along the coast of the Model County, with teams of walkers tackling each individual stage.
The eight stages were: Kilmichael to Courtown; Cahore to Ballyvaldon; Lower Ballyconniger to Curracloe; Rosslare Strand to St Helen's; St Helen's to Rostoonstown; Rostoonstown to Kilmore Quay; Fethard-onSea to Hook Lighthouse, and Hook Lighthouse to Duncannon, where the walk came to an end on Sunday afternoon.
Terrain along the way varied from road to beach and men and women of all ages and fitness levels took part, enjoying some wonderful scenery along the way, particularly in areas inaccessible by car.
With each walker who participated last weekend also collecting more than €100 each, the coastal walk is sure to enable the Lions Club to carry out a lot of charitable work again this year.
