House plan rejected for fourth time

Wednesday March 03 2010

THERE WAS no question of fourth time lucky as planning permission for a house and garage has been denied on a site in Glenbrien.

The application from Colm Roche for land at Ballynastraw was turned down on several grounds.

Officials at County Hall noted that the applicant had no intention of living in the house.

He told them frankly that the site was for sale.

As a result, he failed to meet the requirement that he would occupy the house.

They also turned down the proposal on road safety grounds, pointing out that the exit would be close to a bend on a busy road.

They felt that this would present a potential traffic hazard.
