Head shop sold herbal cigarettes to teen girl

THE Up in Smoke head shop in Enniscorthy sold herbal cigarettes to a 16-year-old girl despite an Over-18s sign at the shop.
The schoolgirl was sold a couple of cigarettes from the display at the shop in Slaney Street at lunch time yesterday (Tuesday).
The teenager, who was not wearing her school uniform at the time, entered the shop at around 12.45 p.m. and asked what she could buy for a tenner. She was not quizzed as to her age or asked to produce any evidence of identity.
The male assistant picked out a couple of herbal cigarettes for her and she left with them in a paper bag, stamped with the name of the shop and the slogan 'The Ultimate Party Shop'.
