SATURDAY night was party night at Mernagh's of Oylegate where Ronán Darcy from Coolamain marked the fact that he has attained the significant age of 21. Ronán, the youngest son of Bernadette and Pat Darcy is a student of theoretical physics at Trinity College as well as being a keen fan of the Beatles.

Though Paul McCartney was not available, the place was packed with family members, including brother Paul (but not brother Padraig who is in Sweden), as well as Wexford friends and college pals. Girlfriend Ailbhe Hourihane from Barntown made sure she received her full ration of the traditional 21 kisses. Those who wanted to hear Ronán play guitar to perform his best 'Yeah, Yeah, Yeah' had to wait until the action moved to Coolamain in the early hours.
