OYLEGATE YOUTH CLUB

Youth Club: There will be youth club in Oylegate hall on this Friday evening 27th January from 8.00pm to 10.00pm. The supervisors for the evening are Johnny Reck, Liz Kinsella, Anna Mai Conroy, Margaret Storey and Con Hourihan.

Uni-hoc: Oylegate youth club did very well in the Uni-hoc on Sunday last, coming home with Gold and 2 Silver Our U15A team played our U-15 B team in the final in a very challenging game with the A team taking the title by a two goal margin. The A Team was Lauren Sludds, Noelene Shanahan, Derbhla Doyle, Patrick Cullen, Shane Reck. Liam Stamp, Laura Kelly, and Conor Doyle. The B Team was Aoife Parker, Paula Dempsey, Davina Bolger, Polly Maher, Cormac Quirke, Pierce Murphy, and Sean Kenny.

Our U-18 team also had a very challenging final but were defeated and took home Silver. The team was Brian Doran, Brendan Kavanagh, Niall Kinsella, Shane O'connor, Erica Cunningham, Eleanor Bolger, Molly Shannon, and Michelle Parker.

Upcoming Events: The next event for the club is the Valentins's Disco on the 10th February. There will be no Youth Club in the Hall this night as most of the Members are travelling to the Disco. We will be preparing the Hall for the Senior Citizens Party on Sunday 12th February.

GARRYNISK PATRON

The Garrynisk Patron will take place this Sunday 5th February at 3pm.

CREDIT UNION QUIZ

The children of the Holy Family will be taking part in the annual quiz in the Riverside Hotel on Sunday 5th February. We will be putting forward two teams under 11s and under 13s, and wish them all the best in representing the Holy Family School, Glenbrien

BALLYHUSKARD 31ST SCOUTS

Scouts resumed after the Christmas break on Wednesday 11th January in the Holy Family School in Glenbrien 6.00 pm to 7.00 pm for Beavers and 7.15 pm to 8.15pm for Cubs. The Date for the Investiture has been changed to 19th February at 2.p.m. in the Hall in Ballymurn. This will be a very special day for all both Scouts and their families. SENIOR CITIZENS PARTY

Oylegate youth club will host the Senior Citizens party on Sunday 12th February.

G.A.A. LOTTO

There was no winner of the lotto jackpot of €6,600 held in Mernaghs Lounge, Oylegate on Wednesday 18th January. The four lucky dip winners are Anne O'gorman, Catherine Murphy, Carmel Heffernan, and Margaret O'connor. The next draw will be held on Wednesday 1st February in The Slaney Inn, Oylegate for a jackpot of €6,800. Tickets cost just €2 each available from club member.

FIRST AID COURSE

A First aid Course (paediatrics), will be held in Oylegate National School, commencing on Wednesday 22nd February from 8pm to 10.00pm and it will be certified by the Order of Malta. The course costs €110 and all are welcome to apply to Michael Collins at Oylegate National School.

COFFEE MORNING

A coffee morning was held on Thursday last in Mernagh's Lounge Oylegate in aid of the Alzeihemer Association. Thanks to all who supported the morning and €75 was raised.

DEEPEST SYMPATHY

Deepest sympathy to the extended Doran Families of Coolnaboy Oylegate and Borelia Glenbrien on the Recent Death of Kathleen Doran, Mount Daniel, The Ballagh. May she Rest in Peace.

SPORTS QUIZ

A sports quiz in aid of Our Lady's Hospital for Sick Children and the IRFU Charitable Trust will be held in Mernagh's Lounge Oylegate on 6th, 13th, and 20th February at 9.30pm. A table of four costs €40. For more information please contact Eamon Mernagh at 087 8111855 for more details.

COLLECTION THANKS

Many thanks to everyone who contributed to last weekend's church gate collection in aid of the Enniscorthy Dyslexia Workshop; €369.71 was collected in Oylegate and €85.93 was collected in Glenbrien.
