OULART
ALL-IRELAND CHAMPION
The whole parish is immensely proud of the achievements of The Ballagh boxing champion, Adam Nolan, who last week, retained the Irish welter-weight title by defeating former Olympian John Joe Joyce, in the National Stadium.
Adam's parents, John and Anne, his brother Darren and sister Leanne were ringside for the auspicious occasion that was also attended by local supporters and boxing fans from all over the county. It takes total commitment, absolute dedication and great skill to achieve greatness, qualities that Adam Nolan possess in abundance as well as many highly commendable personal qualities that earn the admiration of opponents, commentators and supporters. We all wish him continued success!
JUVENILE BOXING
The Ballagh Boxing club had twelve entrants in the Co. Wexford Juvenile championship, held in Ferns recently and remarkably, they had six winners and six runners-up. The winners were Anthony Dobbs, Jack Roche, Joe Lee, Darragh Brennan, Patrick Cullen and Luke Donoghue. The runners-up were Andrew Moody, Darryl Gray, Lee Hore, Eoin O' Neill, Killian Corrigan and Johnny Walker. Heartiest congratulations to all the boys and to their coach, Nicky Kirwan.
