Maria to light up the Wexford stage
IT WILL be a sort of homecoming when Maria Doyle Kennedy visits Wexford Arts Centre on Saturday night.
The acclaimed actress and singer spent her younger years growing up in Enniscorthy and there are still strong family connections to the town.
Maria Doyle Kennedy came to prominence in Alan Parker's The Commitments and as a member of the Black Velvet Band, and has since won wide recognition as a solo singer and in highprofile acting roles, most notably in The Tudors and Downton Abbey.
Described in Hot Press as ' the finest voice this country has ever produced', she is currently working on her fifth solo album 'Sing'.
Her Wexford Arts Centre show on Saturday night (18th) kicks off at 8.30 p. m. and admission is €15.
