OPPORTUNITY KNOCKS
The Curtain came down on the 21st Opportunity Knocks on Friday night last. Over 110 acts went on stage in the qualifying rounds providing a very high standard of performance and entertainment.
Friday last was Finals night when the adjudicators Brendan Hayden, John Deignan and Jimmy Spellacy gave their verdicts in each of the 18 categories as well as awarding overall prizes.
The overall senior winner went to Laura Carroll and the over all junior winner went to Ballygarrett Youths. The best moment in Theatre went to Enniscorthy dance academny 8 for their modern group dance latin mix. The audience award went to "The Sure thing" novelty act. Chairperson John Bardon thanked everybody for their helpnd support in the running of the competion.
Special thanks to Andy and Helen Whelan who shouldered the main taks of organising the event. Thanks also to all our sponsors who have continued to sponsor the event.
At the end of the event a presentation was made to Fr. O'Brien who introduced Opportunity Knocks to Kilanerin 21 years ago. A cake was donated by stafford Bakery to mark the occasion and was enjoyed by all.

HALL RAFFLE
Thanks to everybody who supported the hall raffle which was run in conjuncition with Opportunity Knocks. The winner of the weekend in Seafield was Gordon Hughes
Kilanerin and the winner of the dinner for 2 in the Ashdown Hotel was Brian Nolan Barnland. Thanks to Micheal Cunningham for procuuing the first prize.
COMMUNITY ALERT
A Kilanerin communty alert meeting will take place on Thursday March 11 at 8 p.m. The guest speaker will be a solicitor who will talk on wills. Everybody is welcome.
KILANERIN ICA
At the February meeting of Kilanerin ICA a most interesting talk on interion design using color and texture to transform a room was presented by Mary Boland, HAB Ltd. Architecture and interior design studios.
Kilanerin ICA are organising a walk for Saturday March 6 at 1.30 p.m. meeting at 1.30 p.m. in Kilanerin hall car park weather eprmitting.
WHIST
First lady at last week's whist was shared by Chrissie Kinsella and May Murphy third lady was Eilish Murphy and half time lady was Sarah Horan first gent
