DRAMA GROUP
Further to the second AGM of the Coolgreany Amateur Dramatic Society on Monday 30th January, the newly elected Committee would like to extend sincere gratitude to the outgoing Committee and to all who were involved in the society over the past year with special thanks to all our keen supporters.
The Coolgreany Amateur Dramatic Society is still in its early stages having had three very successful sell out productions over the past two years. We are about to embark on our new spring-time production and are actively seeking new members who are interested in acting or working as part of a stage crew team.
This is a very appropriate time to join as auditions are imminent. If you want to be part of a community project, get to know new people or enjoy the sociability of a team -project, we would love to meet you. TABLE QUIZ.
A Monster Table Quiz will take place in Ballycoogue Hall on this Friday night 10th February at 8.30 pm, A table of 4 will only cost you €20. All the proceeds will go towards Rathdrum Alzheimer's Society. Please support this worthy Charity. For further information Contact 087-6838426.
ST DAVID'S CHURCH
The 40th Anniversary Celebrations of St David's Church Johnstown have been scheduled for the beginning of May, with the official opening by Dr Willie Walsh Bishop of Killaloe Co Clare, on Thursday 3rd May. On Friday evening it will be a Senior Citizens evening, then on Saturday evening there will be a Youth Mass followed by a Barbeque. On Sunday 6th May celebrations will conclude with a concelebrated mass, where all the former Curates of Johnstown, will be joined by the local Parish Clergy, and also by Most Rev Dr Diarmuid Martin, Archbishop of Dublin.
There will be many more attractions associated with the 40th Celebrations including a Photo Exhibition. The Committee would appreciate if any person who had any photos relating to St David's Church over the years, the would appreciate if you would allow us to copy same at your home, or loan them to the Committee, where they will be returned after being copied. ST. PATRICK'S DAY PARADE
Preparations are at an advanced stage for the upcoming St. Patrick's Parade which will take place at 12 noon on 17th March. SYMPATHY
The local community extend their deepest sympathy to Sean Lenihan, Coolgreany Demesne on the recent death of his father Thomas, whose burial took place in Delvin, Co. Westmeath last Sunday week.
Deepest sympathy is also extended to the Darcy family, Fortchester, on the recent tragic death of Brian, whose burial took place in Castletown Cemetery last weekend.
BIRTHDAYS
Congratulations to Tom O'donnell, Knockgreany, who celebrated his birthday last week. Birthday greetings also to Myles Byrne, Glenview, whose birthday was on 2nd February. Also Zach Kennedy, Newtown who celebrated his birthday last Sunday.
Happy birthday to Edward Breslin Kilahurler whose birthday was last Monday 6th February. Also birthday greetings to Sami Bolger, Glenview who had his Birthday on last Monday.
Happy Birthday to Dylan Kelly, Aughullen, Ballyfad, who celebrates his 6th birthday tomorrow, Wednesday 8th February. Birthday greetings also to Michelle Cushe Ballyfad who celebrates her birthday on next Saturday 11th February.
HUNT MEET
A great day's hunting, was enjoyed by a very large field of over 60 horses on last Sunday in the Newtown/askinch/shirsheen areas, with a couple of foxes having being disturbed from their cover in the afternoon, after a long afternoon of hunting, the field retired for a very welcome supply of soup and sandwiches provided by the Coolgreany Inn which were very much enjoyed by all.

All games were called off last weekend.
