CLONEGAL JUVENILE CLUB
Following a meeting held on the 16th January, all coaches and mentors have been put in place for the coming season. Training for the U14's and U16's commenced on the 20th January and will take place every Friday at 7pm sharp in the indoor complex, Kildavin. New members welcome. COMMUNITY GAMES
U10 Handwriting Results: The Slaney Valley Community Games U 10 Handwriting competition took place on Thursday 19th January in Ardattin Hall. Thanks and well done to all those who participated. The results were as follows: Girls: 1st Róisín O' Sullivan, 2nd Aoife Carroll and 3rd Clodagh Hayden. Boys: 1st Tommy Murphy, 2nd Michael Murphy and 3rd Williams. The county final will take place in Ardattin Hall on Sunday 5th February at 3pm. We wish the competitors the best of luck in the county final.
Boys U11 Indoor Soccer: Well done to the Slaney Valley Boys U 11 Indoor Soccer team who took part in the Carlow Community Games competition on Sunday 22nd January. The team consisted of: Stephen Carroll (Captain), Jack Rogers, Niall Gahan, Stephen Murphy, Brian Byrne, Phillip Byrne, Daniel Smyth and Jamie Doyle. Unfortunately the boys were beaten by a stronger Hacketstown team on the day.
Cross Country Training: Cross-country athletics training will commence in Ardattin Field on Friday evenings. Could anyone interested please contact John Rogers on 085 2494825. Age groups are: U12, U13 and U14. The county competition will take place on Sunday 4th March in Ballon.
ART CLASSES
Art classes will take place in the Spellman Hall, Kildavin on Tuesday 31st January at 7.30pm. Six week course in Oil, Acrylic and Drawing for beginners and improvers. Cost is €15. VEC tutor Helen Dalton. For more information contact Rose Byrne 087 909 0275.
PLOUGHING CHAMPIONSHIPS
County Carlow Ploughing Championships are to be held at the Fighting Cocks on Sunday 5th February at 11.30am, on the land kindly provided by Jimmy Reilly. Large crowed is expected from North Ireland and Wales. A day not to be missed.
