SYMPATHY: Sincere sympathy is extended to Des O'Neill, Mill Lane, his family and relations on the death of his mother recently. Last week's expression of sympathy which featured in these notes on the death of his father was incorrect and apologies for the upset.

TRACTOR AND CAR RUN

Askamore annual vintage car and tractor run will take place on Sunday August 29 at 12 noon in aid of John Kenny recovery fund.

SYMPATHY

Sincere sympathy is extended to Jimmy Osborne, Kiltailahane his family and relatives on the death of his sister Josephine Coogan, Dublin during the week.

21ST BIRTHDAY

Happy 21st birthday to James Fitzgerald, Brideswell.

50TH BIRTHDAY

Happy 50th birthday to Mary Somers, England and Croneyhorn who came home and celebrated her birthday to Parkview House, Shillelagh.

THRESHING

John Somers. Croneyhorn is holding his treshing day on Sunday August 8, weather permitting, all proceeds from the day will go towards Carnew Community Care.

CROAGH PATRICK

Some places are still available for the pilgrimage to Croagh Patrick to be held on 25th July, contact Tom Cullen on 040234770.

SYMPATHY

Sincere sympathy is extended to the family and relatives of Joe O'Toole, Carnew and Nenagh who died during the week, his remains were reposing at Margaret's residence on Monday evening with removal on Tuesday to Carnew for funeral mass and burial took place in Tomacork cemetry.

TOMACORK GWS

A meeting of all householders in the Tomacork group water scheme will take place in St. Brigid's Hall, Carnew on Wednesday July 28 at 8 pm, could a member from each household please attend this meeting.

PATRONS

Sincere thank you to everyone who attended the patrons in Carnew and Tomacork on Sunday last. The weather held up great for the couple of hours.

Thanks to all who suppported the field day and to all who helped with the various stalls, setting up on the day and clearing up on the evening, all who donated items for the various stalls, it was very much appreciated.

KNOW YOUR NEIGHBOUR

Macra Na Feirme are holding 'Know Your Neighbour Weekend' this weekend. This campaign encourages people to organise an activity over this weekend and invite their neighbours along.

Carnew Enterprise Centre are getting involved by hosting a coffee morning on Wednesday July 21 from10am to 1pm all are welcome - drop in anytime! Looking forward to seeing you.

CARNEW AFC NOTES

We are holding our registration fun day this Saturday July 24 from 2pm in the back alley, Carnew.

There will be cake stall; sweet shop, ice cream van and burger stand to name a few. there will also be lots of activities on the day to keep the kids entertained with face painting penalty shoot outs, children's races, egg & spoon parent and child, bouncing castles, duck racing, raffles, name the doll and many more.

There will also be the presentation to some of our junior teams of their cert. and medals. The entry is free and is open to every one not just those who want to register. We hope this will be a great family fun day and would love you to come and support us on the day.

Bunclody tickets are now on sale from the club and if any one is interested in purchasing them please contact the committee or 087 6740487. for details or brochure of the draw.

We are still looking for volunteers to help out with our teams both at junior and senior level so if you are interested please contact 087 4121782 or give your name to a committee member

We are hoping to form an under 16 girls team this yr so if you are interested or know anyone that is please spread the word, and come to our registration day on July 24 or contact a committee member 087 6740487

Due to the bad weather over the last few weeks we are cleaning the back alley up again this week so anyone who has some spare time we could really do with the help tonight and Thursday from 7 to 9pm to get ready for the fun day.
