FORÓIGE THANKS

Boolavogue Foróige Club would like to thank all those who attended, helped at, or in any way contributed to their recent very successful Senior Citizens' party.

A very special thanks is extended to their extremely generous sponsors and to Lar Kenny for providing the music. A great time was had by all!

SOCCER NEWS

Philip Christophi's U-10 were out against Forth Celtic in a cup clash on Saturday last and were 3-0 up at the interval. Callum Downes got the first goal, bamboozling the keeper with a slick shot. Matt Rochford netted shortly afterwards.

Then just before the interval, Micheál Gahan, the man-of-the-match, slammed a screamer past the hapless keeper. Celtic tried to come back in the second half but a great defensive display saw them denied even a consolation goal.

The U-14 girls' team were at home to a very strong and favoured North End team in the cup on Saturday. North End took the game to extra time but our girls won out, deservedly, by 3-2. Star player, Michelle Gahan scored twice and Órla Breen added the vital third goal.

On Sunday the 'A' team had a convincing 7-0 away win against Anchor United. Marty Kelly bagged 4, Brendan Burke 2 and Ian Tompkins 1. Séamus Sweeney helped the 'C' team to a share of the points by scoring St. Cormac's only goal in their 1-1 draw with Camolin.
