COLÁISTE AN ÁTHA

A reminder that the Enrolment Night for Prospective 1st years for September 2012 will take place tomorrow evening, Wednesday, 1st February from 6.30 to 9pm in the Reception Area of the College. Please bring child's birth or baptismal certificate and child's PPS number with you. Members of the Parent's Association of the College will be present on the night and will be assisting with photocopying, helping with form-filling, etc.

The Parents Association will also be selling a book called 'Moving Up - A Parent's Roadmap' , written by John Stevenson and produced by the National Parent's Council. This book costs €5 and is a well-written, easy to read, book with lots of advice and information for parents on the transition for students from primary to secondary school. The suppliers of the school jacket will also be doing fittings for the school jacket and taking orders tomorrow night.

PILATES FOR MEN

Pilates for men is commencing on Wednesday night 8th February at 7.30pm in The Soccer Clubhouse, Ballygarrett. Cost is €7-00 per class. Contact Tim 0876715467. Pilates increases core strength, flexibility and muscle tone

YOUTH ORCHESTRA

The North Wexford Youth Orchestra conducted by Teresa Doyle is taking part in the 17th Festival of Youth Orchestra in The National Concert Hall, Dublin on Saturday 4th February. The performance is at 3pm and there are three other Youth Orchestras taking part from Tullamore, Dundalk and Athenry. Tickets are available from NCH Box Office 01-4170000. Cost from €7.50 to €15. The Festival is organised by The Irish Association of Youth Orchestras

GAMBIA BENEFIT NIGHT

Mary Redmond and the Gorey Gambia Youth Project would like to thank all who supported the recent Benefit Night. €1,010 was raised. All proceeds go to support projects in Gambia

COMMUNITY GAMES

Talent Night: Community Games want Talent. Our Talent night is on 11th February at 7.00pm in Ballygarrett GAA Complex. All entries for solo / group singing, music group, Irish dancing, recitation, drama and sketch need to have registered with Mary on 085-1266178

Girls Soccer: Good luck to the U-13 & U15 Soccer Girls in Bunclody on the 5th February.

Model Making: Well done to Sean O'brien who got on very well at the Model Making and to Una Mcguire who won gold in the U-10 Model Making.

Basketball: Basketball every Wednesday night in Ballygarrett GAA Complex from 6.30pm - 8.30pm for ages 9yrs upwards.

YOUTH CLUB

Congratulations to our U-18 team who beat Oylegate in the Unihoc final on Sunday 22nd January in Wexford. Team were Darren Morris, Brian O'connor, Conor Maher, Dara Cahill, Katie Doyle, Lisa Martin and Aine Mcmanus. Our U-15 teams were narrowly beaten in their games. Well done to all

Dates for your Diary: Valentine Disco 10th February and Youth Factor will take place on 17th February. The Youth Club meets in Killenagh Park on Friday nights 8.00pm to 9.30pm. New and old members welcome

CYCLE CLUB

Cyclists meet every Sunday morning weather permitting at O'brien's, Killenagh. We leave at 10.30am sharp. This is a leisurely cycle and everyone takes it at their own pace. All cyclists welcome

IRISH DANCING

KILLENAGH WANDERERS

Prepare for Valentines Day with an Anne Summers Party in O'brien's Pub, Killenagh on Friday night 10th February at 9.00pm. Admission is€5-00. Great fun and a lot of prizes on the night. This event is in aid of Killenagh Wanderers Soccer Club.

REALT NA MARA GAA

The Realt na Mara Ballygarrett GAA Club AGM was held last week and the large attendance was briefed on all aspects of the club.

After the yearly reports were read out, the financial situation was discussed, while the chairman Andy Kavanagh urged all members to double their efforts to meet the demands of our club.

A report on team affairs was then given, followed by the election of officers and committee. Seamus Byrne was elected as the new intermediate hurling and football manager. He was a great player with the club over the past twenty years and we wish him well in his new role. Adult training will begin on Saturday February 4.

GAA BLOTTO

There was no winner of last week's Realt na Mara Ballygarrett GAA Club Blotto Draw. The numbers drawn were: 6, 9, 18 and 19. The €20 lucky dip winners were: Shane Willoughby; Caoimhe Naughter; Siobhan Casey; Sheila Tomkins; and Bridie Hammel. This week's jackpot stood at €2,300.

Blotto tickets are on sale at €2 from various outlets and committee members. Draw takes place on Monday nights.
