SCHOOL NEWS

Ballyduff NS will re-open for pupils on Tuesday, August 31st at 9.20 am. This year we will welcome twelve new Junior Infants. Junior Infants will go home at 12.30 until Monday, September 13th.

The school building has undergone big changes over the holidays and is very much on track to be ready for the return to school. Ballyduff NS Homework Journals will be on sale in the school in September.

We hope that everyone has had a good holiday and would like to wish our former sixth class pupils the best of luck as they enter first year.

PATRON AND FIELD DAY

Our annual Patron and Field day took place recently raising a net profit of €13,488.59.

The winners of the raffle were Patrick Nolan, Kilcloran; Michael Walker, Ballyduff; John G Doyle, Boley; Peter Redmond, Coolpark, Ferns; Peter Jordan, Boley; Tom Fitzgerald, Ballintim, Camolin; Maria Kennedy, Clologue; Majella Doran, Kilcotty, Enniscorthy; David O'Connor, 45 Pairc Muhire, Ferns. Thanks to everyone who helped and supported the field day in any way.

NEW BABIES

Congratulations to Chris Bowes and Trish Murphy on the birth of baby Ava, congratulations to Martina Kennedy and Pat Owns on the birth of baby Niamh and congratulations to Mark and Orla Furlong on the birth of baby Jamie.

Weekday Mass in Ballyduff Church each Thursday at 9.30am.

CHURCH GATE COLLECTION

A Church Gate Collection in aid of The Wexford Branch of Down Syndrome Irelandwill take place in the Gorey Area on Sat the 30th and Sunday the 31st of October 2010. A new permit has been granted. More details to follow

CLONEE GAA

Congratulations to Clonee GAA junior B who won the Gorey District final on Saturday last, beating Ferns 1-7 to 2-5.

CLONEE GAA UNDERAGE

Well done to all the U10 and U8 football players who played at the field day recently and a special thank you to the Oylgate team for a great match.

Membership money is due. €10 per child to a max of €20 per family. Thank you once again to all the parents for their support so far.

RUNNING CLUB

Interested in Keeping Fit? Sliabh Buidhe Rovers Running Club, Ferns, are looking to recruit new runners to join our club. Male & Female, Boys & Girls, all standards catered for. All ages from 16 upwards. For more information about our club, contact Luke Kehoe on 087 3222914. We also hold our four mile Road Race in Ferns on Saturday 4th September at 5.30pm. Joggers, Runners, Walkers - All welcome.

HIP HOP

BALLYDUFF JOURNAL

MOBILE LIBRARY

There will be no mobile library service in August.

FIELD DAY

Next Sunday will see the Tombrack United Annual Field Day at the pitch in Craan with a load of stalls and attractions with something for all ages. A Vintage and Classic Car Show will be a new attraction this year while the very popular Dog Show also returns.

All the usual attractions will also take place such as Bottle Stall, bric-a-brac stall, Horseshoe Ringers, Golf, Darts, Rugby Kick, Penalty Kick, Duck Racing, Face Painting and hopefully the launch of the clubs replica jersey with orders been taken on the day.

There will also be Bouncy Castle, Children's soccer match and Children's Races plus several other attractions to keep everyone occupied for a few hours. Club members will be calling to houses in the locality over the week collecting for the bottle stall, bric-a-brac stall, etc and we look forward to your continued support.

We are also looking of donations for the tea stall and the produce stall and anyone wishing to drop cakes or buns for the tea stall can call to the hall in Tombrack on Sunday between 12 and 1 or contact Trish Kenny on 053 9367758 to make arrangements.
