'Curly Watts'
IS THERE a more famous store manager than that of Coronation Street's Curly Watts? Even though he always seemed to be having a flap about something, the customers of Bettabuys, and viewers, loved him.
Born in Manchester in 1961, actor Kevin Kennedy hit 50 last year and is married with two children. He played the part of Curly, (originally Rita's paperboy), from 1983 until 2003.
Also a singer and musician, in May, 2000, he released a song and album named Bulldog Nation with his band The Bunch of Thieves. He also played the part of an ageing hippy in Ben Elton's touring production We Will Rock You, before signing up to a stint in London's West End.
A serious Manchester City fan, he has never ruled out a return to Weatherfield. Watch that grocery space.
